I don't know about you, but I do a lot of online research when it comes to finding ways to have fun with my kids.  Especially around the holidays. Thankfully, I was blessed to "meet" Anne Mercado of Green Eggs & Moms through some online social media connections a while back.

I love her website!  (And she is one of the sweetest people I've "met" in my online blogging adventure.)  Green Eggs & Moms is packed full of helpful content just for moms like you and me!   Because Anne always offers a wealth of great parenting information, I just had to ask her if she would be willing to write a guest post for ChristianSuperMom.   And Yay!  She agreed!

So without further delay, please welcome Anne!  Oh, and be sure to leave some comment love for her too.

Valentines is coming soon!

For those who are anti-hearts day, you can use this time to create fun memories with your kids. But I'm afraid it's going to include hearts - lots of them.

So, shall we start? Here's a round-up of some of the best and unique Valentines activities out there. You won't find Valentines cards here, for those you'll have to go elsewhere!

Unique Valentines Activities You Can Do With Kids

1. Pancake Hearts

Yes, they can be made. There's a free PDF you can download that shows you how easy it is to make. Seriously, it's simple.

Note: This was featured on Living Locurto, which is an awesome crafty blog we stumbled upon. The creative mom behind this is Jenni from Jenni Price Illustration.

2. I Spy Toy Collage Heart

This might send you digging into the toy box for red toys but it's worth it. Can't find any? Run to the mall and buy some.

Oh, and playing I Spy can improve your kids' focus. Visit Dinosaurs & Octopuses so Joyce can show you how quick it is to make this game slash decor.

3. Birdseed Ornament Recipe

Just because there was no heart in the title, doesn't mean it isn't one. This delicious treat may be safe for human consumption but it's actually bird feed that can be hung on trees. This is for all the animal lovers out there.

Rene of Bargain Hoot says it's a giveaway too. Very nifty idea!

4. Heart Patterns: A Valentine's Day Math Activity

Another one from Dinosaurs and Octopuses. This doubles as an educational activity: after cutting out the hearts, ask your children to arrange them according to the pattern you set.

Learning, fun and Valentines rolled into one! Scoot on over to Joyce's blog so she can show you how to make this bookmark giveaway.

5. Heart Envelopes

Start off by cutting pieces of paper into hearts, then have let Mommy G of Forty Weeks and Then Some show you and the kiddos how to fold them into envelopes. Your kids will love learning this new skill.

Whether it's food, a game or decor, an animal treat, an educational activity or simple craft, these Valentines activities will give you and your children the opportunity to spend quality time together. Not to mention all the fun you will have.

Who knows, maybe after doing a few of these, Grinch-y Valentines folks will warm up to hearts day.

Now, spread the love and share this with your friends so they can enjoy these unique Valentines activities too.

Author Bio:
